FRIDAY, April 10
(5:45 PM) Doors Open – Check-In and Seating
(6:15) Welcome (Bryon Mengle, Master of Ceremonies) & Worship Music (Youth-Led Worship Band)
(7:00) General Session #1: Brett Kunkle {Apologist/Founder Maven} – Why I Am a Christian: An Introduction to Apologetics: We will look at the most common reasons Christians give for why they embrace Christianity and show how a skeptical world often shoots those reasons down. Then we’ll discuss the primary reason why we ought to embrace Christianity: because it’s true. We’ll clarify this controversial claim and show how the truth of religious claims must be grounded in reality, not wishful thinking. Of course, such a claim is followed by questions of how we can know Christianity is true, so we’ll look at the importance of apologetics for Christians living in the 21st century.
(8:20) General Session #2: Stephen Williams {Founder/Director Prepare the Way Ministries} – The Reliability of the Bible: Most Christians do not know how to respond to the question, “Is the Bible reliable?” This question was a key stumbling block for Stephen before he accepted Christ and realized how much evidence there really is for the Bible. In this talk, Stephen describes the three key areas that make the Bible the most reliable document in all of antiquity. First, Bibliographic/Manuscript Evidence: There is more manuscript evidence for the Bible than any other book of antiquity. Second, External Evidence for Christianity: The Scriptures are historically and archaeologically accurate. Third, Internal Evidence: The authors of the Bible were eyewitnesses who were detailed and accurate.
SATURDAY, April 11
(9:00 AM) Welcome Back & Worship Music
(9:20) General Session #3: Brett Kunkle {Apologist/Founder Maven} – How Your Worldview Matters for Every Single Area of Your Life: What is a worldview and why does it even matter? In this talk you’ll discover that everyone has a worldview but most people have never thought carefully about why they believe what they believe. Ironically, one’s worldview has profound consequences for all of life. We’ll take a brief look at the prominent worldviews in our culture and then discuss the very practical implications of worldview for how we live each and every day.
(10:30) Breakout Sessions with Different Talks to Choose From (at 10:30 a.m. & 2 p.m.):
– Brett Kunkle {Apologist/Founder Maven} – Only One Way? Why Jesus is Necessary: Less than half of conservative Protestant teens and about a quarter of mainline Protestant teens believe Jesus is the only way. Christian adults don’t fare much better. So not only is Jesus’ claim that He is the way, the truth and the life controversial “out there” in the world, but also “in here” in the church. We’ll look at some of the common objections to the exclusivity of Christ’s claims and then show why Jesus is the only way to God.
– Shawn Hart {Apologist/President The Ambassadors Forum} – The Questions of Culture, The Invitation of Christ: There are many questions in our culture. Several of them are intimidating and can seem difficult to navigate. As Ambassadors for Christ, we want to be able to give a compelling and biblical response to these questions, but we can’t stop there. More than just “answer people”, we want to be “invitation people”. People who can take a comment or question from people who don’t believe and turn this moment into an invitation to know Christ. In this workshop we approach several different topics and learn to apply a question/invitation framework to each of them. My hope for this workshop is that you leave equipped with some tools to feel more confident in living boldly for Jesus.
– Erin Kunkle {Speaker/Co-Founder Maven} – Finding Identity in Our Design – God’s Design for Women (Female Only): The culture bombards us with messages about what makes a woman valuable. From outward appearance to workplace success to motherhood, women are encouraged to find and curate their identity in such things. But Scripture provides the only true and lasting foundation for identity, rooted in God’s design of women.
– Mark Schaufler {Founder/President MST Ministries} – A Proactive Approach to Suicide Prevention (Suggest Adults/Leaders): There are three key areas where we can intervene and prevent suicide long before it happens.
– Anthony Watson {Speaker Turning Point USA} – Choices & Consequences: Every choice you make matters. Through faith, God gives us the wisdom and strength to choose the road that leads to purpose, growth, and a life that actually means something.
– Robert Young {Oregon Right to Life} – Abortion: What’s the Big Deal?: This workshop is designed to provide tools for thinking through your position on abortion. Learn about fetal development, Oregon abortion law, the equal rights argument for protecting the unborn, and the hard questions surrounding abortion.
(11:30) Lunch Provided (Chick-fil-A)
(12:35) General Session #4: Shawn Hart {Apologist/President The Ambassadors Forum} – Longing for Justice in an Unjust World: We live in a time when hearing stories of injustice are as common as the air we breathe. We cannot turn on the news or browse any of our social media feeds without being bombarded by the fact that we exist in a world that is full of injustice. Just as injustice is a common experience for all of us, our longing for things to be made right unites us, regardless of our worldview. Where does this longing for justice come from? What is Biblical justice? How does the Christian worldview deal with injustice differently than other worldviews? In this talk we will look at these questions in light of the Gospel, as we seek to better understand what Christ accomplished through his death on the cross.

TESTIMONIES
“I have NEVER been to a conference where I walked away with such great confidence that the kids I brought both gleaned truth and had fun. I have been to many many different conferences and youth events, some of them big name ones, some smaller; this was by far the most useful, spiritually uplifting youth event that I have ever been to. EVER!!!! No conference has ever (until now) provided to me or to the young kids that I minster to, the historical, scientific, logical reasons to believe in Christ. The kids I brought were blessed…” – Youth pastor
“The first year I attended the Summit in 8th grade I had no idea about the challenges I would face concerning my faith in the next four years as I entered high school…because of the Youth Summit I was prepared for challenges to my faith that came along. Having been going to the Youth Summit for the past four years, I am now more equipped than ever to stand firm in my faith as I enter into our world with a Christian worldview that has been built on a firm foundation…” – 16 year old
