Summer Social Media Posts to Help Kids Stand Firm in their Faith
Don’t Let Summer Slip Away! Follow Prepare the Way’s Social Media Sites Stay in the Loop!
Over the years, I (Sarah) have often been torn about summer. Part of me wants to bury my head in the sand and wait until the school year for new goals and bright ideas about parenting and worldview topics. Summer is a time for family fun, right? But then there’s that voice (maybe you know it too) – the one that says, “you can do both.” You can carve out time for making memories with your kids and also make time to help kids to grow in their faith and worldview.
I am now of the mindset that summer is a great time to sprinkle in some worldview equipping – both for you and for your kids. Discipling our kids and grandkids (and spiritual kids) is not an instant process. You don’t build a building overnight. It’s one building block at a time. And why not add some building blocks to the mix this summer?
We at Prepare the Way want to make it easy for you to take some steps this summer to help your family build a Biblical worldview at home. Although we love camps and VBS and all those good things, research has shown that parents are the number one influencers of kids’ faith. So yes to all those good things outside of the home, but keep up the conversations within your family and ministries and with those you disciple. That may mean getting more equipped yourself as a parent or grandparent.
We will be posting about 1-2 posts a week on our Prepare the Way website, Facebook account, YouTube Channel, X, and LinkedIn that will highlight key topics dealing with worldview and helping kids stick with the faith. We’ll cover some topics like the new social media trend of deconstruction, hard questions of the faith that drive kids away when not addressed, college campus ministry, the middle school opportunity, the importance of Christian mentors outside of parents, some of our favorite resources, and others. “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” – Matthew 7:24-27
